Investigators said a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on NW Radial Highway when the driver ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Corolla that was traveling southbound on 58th Street and was attempting to turn right onto NW Radial Highway.

The Altima collided with a light pole, downing power lines, and caught fire after the crash, investigators said.

Omaha police said the driver of the Corolla, identified as 48-year-old Mica Bryant, was taken to Nebraska Medicine with CPR in progress. She later died from her injuries, according to authorities.

The driver of the Altima, 23-year-old Chase Rivera, was taken into custody for multiple charges, including DUI causing serious bodily injury, reckless driving, preliminary breath test refusal and open container, Omaha police said.
