LEADER KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN AT FIVE. AN EIGHT YEAR OLD WAS FOUND SAFE IN OMAHA AFTER IOWA OFFICIALS ISSUED AN ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY FOR HIM JUST HOURS EARLIER. THANKS FOR JOINING US. I’M MADDIE AUGUSTINE THE SHELBY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND IOWA DIVISION OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION PUT OUT THE ALERT EARLY THIS MORNING. THIS AFTERNOON, OMAHA POLICE AND NEBRASKA STATE PATROL LOCATED THE EIGHT YEAR WITH THIS MAN. 51 YEAR-OLD GARY MCBREEN NEAR 84TH AND PAPILLION PARKWAY. AND THAT’S WHERE WE FIND KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S BETH CARLSON WITH THE NEWEST DETAILS AND THE ARREST. IN THIS CASE. THAT’S RIGHT. NOW, WE WERE HERE JUST HOURS AGO WHEN WE FIRST WATCHED AS THAT EIGHT YEAR-OLD WAS REUNITED WITH HIS MOM. NOW IT ALL HAPPENED HERE BEHIND ME. BOTH OMAHA POLICE AND NEBRASKA STATE PATROL WERE ALERTED THAT A CAR THAT WAS ISSUED IN AN ENDANGERED PERSONS REPORT WAS SPOTTED IN THIS AREA. THEY THEN RESPONDED HERE BEHIND ME AND THAT ALLEGED KIDNAPER IS NOW IN CUSTODY. NOW, IN THAT ENDANGERED PERSONS REPORT, THE IOWA DIVISION OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS CONFIRMED THE EIGHT YEAR OLD WAS LAST SEEN WITH 51 YEAR-OLD GARY MCBREEN. THEY ASKED ANYONE WHO HAD SEEN MCBREEN THE CHILD OR ONE OF TWO POSSIBLE VEHICLES TO CALL AUTHORITIES IMMEDIATELY. NOW, ACCORDING TO A RELEASE FROM OMAHA POLICE, THE SHELBY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT MCBREEN AND THE CHILD WERE IN THE OMAHA AREA. OPD AND MSP RESPONDED AND OPD ARRESTED MCBREEN FOR A FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE FOR A KIDNAPING WARRANT MADE OUT OF SHELBY COUNTY, IOWA. NOW WE DID WATCH MSP AND SPOKE WITH HIM AFTER THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CHILD DID NOT HAVE ANY INJURIES. WE EVEN WATCHED THEM BUY AN ICE CREAM CONE WHILE THEY AWAITED FAMILY TO ARRIVE. AFTER THEY WERE ALERTED. THAT LITTLE BOY IS NOW HOM

Authorities in Shelby County, Iowa, are searching for an 8-year-old boy, who was reported missing early Saturday morning.
