Back to school forecast: Hot start to week, multiple storm chances

OMAHA, Neb. —

Temperatures are on the rise and so are storm chances this week as many area schools are back in session. Omaha’s Weather Leader has your bus stop forecast each day so you know what to expect.

Monday

Plan for the heat and humidity Monday. You may want to pack the rain jacket just in case. There is a slight chance for a shower or storm in the morning. Expect highs around 90 degrees with feels like temperatures around 100 degrees.

Isolated storms are possible Monday night. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire KETV viewing area in a marginal risk zone for severe activity.

One or two storms could produce hail or strong wind gusts.

Tuesday

Tuesday could be the hottest day of the week, but mainly dry. Wear light colored, loose fitting clothes to combat the heat and humidity. Stay hydrated too! Expect highs in the low to mid 90s with feels like temperatures around 100 degrees in the afternoon.

There is a better chance for storms Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has most areas around and north of Omaha in a marginal risk zone for severe activity.

Wednesday

Wednesday will still be hot and will be mainly dry. Expect highs around 90 degrees.

Thursday

Pack the umbrella and rain jacket Thursday with widespread showers and storms likely during the day. Highs will likely be cooler in the upper 70s.

Friday

It looks like Friday will be another day for the umbrella and rain jacket with shower and storm chances during the day. Expect highs in the upper 70s.
