The best ways to navigate wheels, feet, and school streets
OMAHA, Neb. —
As students get ready to head back to school, many will be walking or biking to and from class.
Julie Harris from Bikewalk Nebraska sat down with KETV Newswatch 7’s Jaylon Banks about the safest ways to navigate wheels, feet, and city streets.

“Traffic patterns are now going to change very abruptly, just like they did in May when school dismissed,” said Harris.
She says being prepared for those pattern changes and more neighborhood traffic is key.
And when it comes to biking to school, a helmet and bike lock are a must. So is knowing the route.
Harris suggests biking to school with your child a couple of times so you can point out the stop signs and driveways they will need to be watching out for.
