Big Brothers Big Sisters seeks mentors for nearly 150 local youth
Big Brothers Big Sisters is searching for mentors to help nearly 150 young people in the area through connection and support.
OMAHA, Neb. —
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands is calling for more mentors this year to support nearly 150 young people in the area who are waiting for a steady, caring adult to make a difference in their lives.
Keegan Korf, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands chief development officer, joined KETV in studio to share more about the program.

Korf explained that having a caring adult mentor benefits young people by providing them with guidance, encouragement and a positive role model.
She also addressed common misconceptions about becoming a mentor, noting that some people believe they need special skills or significant amounts of time to make an impact. Korf says BBBS values “presence over perfection.”
For those interested in becoming a mentor, Korf shared that nearly 150 local young people are currently waiting for a mentor.
