Big Red Zone Expert Damon Benning breaks down Nebraska’s tough schedule and why players aren’t talking about it
LINCOLN, Neb. —
Nebraska football has one of the toughest league schedules in the Big Ten this season.
The Huskers play three playoff teams and the last two national champions.

According to Damon Benning of the Nebraska Radio Network, while the fans talk about the tough slate this fall, the players do not talk about it.
“They would tell you…the degree of difficulty of the schedule of the Big Ten is why they came to Nebraska. You want a sneaky three-game stretch. It’s Washington at home, coming off the bye. Then you have Illinois, and then you go to Rutgers, right? You need to win back-to-back games. And the Big Ten, finally, as a Nebraska football player, you need to be able to go through a non-sexy part of the schedule and come out and say ‘you know what? We’re on the good end of this’,” Benning said.
