Instead, homes with even-numbered addresses should water their lawns on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Odd-numbered addresses should water on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The city also recommends lawn watering only during the early morning or evening through the end of August.

Gretna also asked residents to help out.

Even numbered addresses can water their lawns on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Odd numbers can water Tuesdays, Thursdays and either Saturday or Sunday.
