Both Pacific Street on-ramps to close for I-680 expansion project; See why
OMAHA, Neb. —
Both Pacific Street on-ramps to both northbound and southbound I-680 will be closed starting 9 a.m. Thursday, August 6.
The ramp to northbound I-680 just re-opened two weeks ago, but the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) tells KETV it observed slowdowns on the interstate after that reopening. NDOT said it is reclosing the ramp “out of an abundance of caution” for driver safety during the rest of the I-680 expansion project.

The I-680 expansion project includes adding a lane on both directions between Pacific and Dodge. It is scheduled to be complete late November 2026; both Pacific Street on-ramps are expected to be closed until around that time as well.
NDOT tells KETV the on-ramp to southbound I-680 may open sooner though.
Detours
Traffic will be detoured to Regency Pkwy, then north to West Dodge Road, then west to
the on-ramp I-680 North/South.
