A 29-year-old man who was rescued Sunday after becoming trapped in a wall void space near two businesses in California was later arrested on suspicion of burglary, according to police.According to initial information from the Salinas Fire Department, the man fell from the roof of the Maya Cinemas theater near the lettering. It was estimated that he slid down at least 22 feet.Police said officers were inside Brewjee coffee shop getting coffee Sunday morning when they heard faint calls for help coming from nearby. After checking the area, including the Maya Cinemas offices, officers determined the yelling was coming from inside the wall between Brewjee and the theater. When officers knocked on the wall, they got a knock back.That’s when they found Isaac Valencia, 29, trapped inside the wall, police said. His bail was set at $10,000. Salinas Fire responded and worked for about two and a half hours to free Valencia. After being medically evaluated, Valencia was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of burglary.He told responders he had been stuck there since about 9 p.m. the night before, meaning he may have been trapped for roughly 12 hours.Authorities have not released additional details about the suspected burglary.
