A man in what appears to be a Cobra Kai-inspired mask tried to rob the Abelardo’s near 31st and Q streets in Omaha. The video, from last October, shows the man pointing a gun at employees before leaving without any cash.The suspect approached a back door but turned around. Seconds later, he’s seen going in through another entrance near the drive-thru. He wore a skull mask, similar to the look from the movie “Karate Kid,” and went straight into the kitchen, where he pointed the gun at employees. Employees raised their hands as the gun was pointed. Police said the man demanded money, but the employees did not give him any. He left without firing any shots. Abelardo’s is equipped with a surveillance system that captured clear images of the mask, his black Dickies hoodie with orange lettering, and his teal sneakers.
