Beatrice bakery starts prepping for Christmas in July in 1986
BEATRICE, Neb. —
A Beatrice bakery started prepping for Christmas in the month of July in 1986.
The bakery needed more than 2 million pounds of fruit cake to get through the holiday season.

You might think it was a little nutty to worry about Christmas cake in the heat of the summer, but Grandma’s Master Fruitcakes were popular around the world.
“It helps a lot because you are able to think about Christmas and the snow flying,” said veteran baker Blythe Taylor.
