Coach Rhule confirms Anthony Colandrea is Nebraska’s starting quarterback
LINCOLN, Neb. —
UNLV transfer Anthony Colandrea claimed the starting quarterback role at Nebraska.
On Saturday, Coach Matt Rhule said Colandrea “would play for us right now” as a starter, but he also added that both TJ Lateef and Danny Kaelin are “in the mix” for the No. 2 spot.

When asked about Colandrea, Rhule said, “Very competitive, very fiery. He expects to win every play, but he’s done a nice job at disciplining himself to also take what’s there and makes nice checks and then run pass game. Can throw the ball deep, and I think the biggest thing is he extends a ton of plays with his legs, which takes a lot of pressure off of the offensive line and backs in protection and puts a lot of pressure on the defense.
