Council Bluffs Fire Department nominates new chief
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
Council Bluffs mayor Jill Shudak appointed Robert Schoening as the city’s new fire chief.
Schoening will also serve as the new head of the fire department.

A release from the city said that he’s dedicated more than 20 years to Council Bluffs, since joining the department in 2002.
Through that time, he has risen through the ranks as a firefighter, paramedic, captain and acting assistant chief.
