Council Bluffs holds military veteran career day as part of ‘Hire A Veteran Day’ initiative
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
Saturday marks National “Hire A Veteran Day.”
On Thursday, Council Bluffs held an event to promote that purpose.

Veterans were invited to career fairs across Iowa today, including one in Council Bluffs.
Home Base Iowa says this year’s series of career fairs was their largest one ever with 115 employers across the state.
“Veterans are one of the most underemployed individuals in the guard reserve, and it gives them the opportunity to talk to employers who are looking for veterans in the skill sets that they provide,” said Local Veteran Employment representative Rick Honeycutt.
