Council Bluffs police arrest Des Moines man in connection to an online child predator operation
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
Council Bluffs police arrested a man from Des Moines in connection to an online child predator operation.
According to court documents, Thomas Stone allegedly initiated contact with a law enforcement officer posing as a minor online, and Stone was informed multiple times that he was talking with someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

The search warrant alleged Stone sent sexually explicit images and videos and asked for some in return.
According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, Stone was arrested for grooming, phone dissemination of obscene materials to a minor, and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Stone was held on $25,000 bond.
“The Council Bluffs Police Department is committed to protecting children and holding those who seek to exploit them accountable,” said the police department in a news release.
