Creighton soccer’s senior defender named to Hermann Trophy Award Watch List
OMAHA, Neb. —
Creighton soccer’s Matthew Reed was named to the Hermann Trophy Award Watch List.
The Hermann Trophy Award is the Heisman of men’s college soccer.

Reed was one of 20 defenders named to the Defender to Watch List earlier in August.
In 2025, he finished with three goals and four assists, and he helped the Jays to seven shutouts.
The senior defender appeared in 15 matches for the Bluejays for a total of 1,048 minutes.
Creighton has had two Hermann Trophy winners in program history: Johnny Torres in 1997 and Duncan McGuire in 2022.
Creighton’s season opener is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. when the Jays host Florida International at Morrison Stadium.
