Crime Stoppers: Omaha thieves caught on camera targeting motorcycle, floor cleaner

OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in thefts at the Broadmoor Apartments parking garage in Aksarben on July 19.

Surveillance footage captured the suspects entering the apartment garage around 5 a.m. One suspect attempted to steal a motorcycle but failed. The other suspect later tried to walk the bike away.

The victim found the motorcycle missing its ignition but still in the garage. The second suspect carried a large bag to the vehicle. Police believe the pair might’ve been aware of the location of the cameras.

According to the police report, access to the apartment complex, including the garage, requires a key fob.

The suspects were seen leaving in a white GMC Envoy, likely a model from 2002 to 2009.

Police also believe the suspects targeted a trailer full of cleaning supplies the day before. Surveillance footage shows a white GMC Envoy driving through a nearby parking lot. The suspects reportedly stole a $2,000 burnisher, which is a piece of floor cleaning equipment.

The suspects’ clothing may help identify them. One wore a camouflage shirt with a flag design, while the other had a black hat with a pink or red symbol on the front.
