Nebraska Cyclospora update: Douglas County cases climb as Iowa reports possible outbreak link
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —
The Douglas County Health Department says the number of confirmed Cyclospora infections in the Omaha area has increased in the past week.
Officials said the amount of confirmed cases has grown to 45, which is up from the 27 cases reported a week ago.

Federal officials are investigating cases across nine states and believe shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms may be the source.

Nebraska has not been officially linked to that outbreak, but health officials are working to determine if local cases are connected.
Iowa officials told our sister station in Des Moines, KCCI, that there are cases of cyclosporiasis in the state that are possibly tied to the national outbreak.
