Omaha weather: Dangerous heat continues Sunday, early next week

OMAHA, Neb. —

After a roller coaster ride of temperatures this week, dangerous heat returns for the weekend and will stick around into next week. Omaha’s Weather Leader has deemed Sunday and Monday as severe weather days with greater potential for extreme heat.

Extreme heat Sunday and Monday

An extreme heat warning has been issued for the entire KETV viewing area until Monday night. Expect temperatures to climb around 100 degrees with potential for feels like temperatures to exceed 110 degrees.

Sunday night storm chance

There is also a slight chance for an isolated, strong storm Sunday night. As of Sunday morning, the Storm Prediction Center has areas north of Omaha in a slight risk for severe activity. If any storms develop, strong wind gusts would be the main threat.
