Actor Patrick Muldoon’s cause of death has been revealed. Multiple outlets report that Muldoon died on April 19 from a heart attack. He was 57. The underlying cause was a hereditary coagulation disorder, which is a genetic condition that impairs the blood’s ability to form clots properly. The death certificate also listed a pulmonary embolism as an underlying cause, which is when a blood clot blocks an artery or the lungs and does not allow blood to flow. Muldoon played Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives” from 1992 to 1995 and returned to reprise the role in 2011.”Days of Our Lives” released a statement after Muldoon’s death, saying, “The Days of our Lives family is saddened by the news of Patrick’s untimely passing. As the original “Austin Reed,” he left an indelible mark in Salem both personally and professionally.
