Douglas County authorities respond to multiple incidents on Interstate 80 Friday afternoon

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —

Traffic was a headache on Interstate 80 on Friday.

Around 1 p.m., a vehicle caught fire near 84th Street on the interstate.

The eastbound lanes were at a crawl as the fire burned in the far right lane near the on-ramp.

Firefighters eventually extinguished the flames.

There is no word on what caused the blaze.

Then around that same time, there was a crash at the I-80 and JFK split.

Authorities said no one was injured during either incident.
