Illinois pair arrested in Omaha after $470,000 Mega Millions scam targeting elderly victim
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. —
Two Illinois residents are behind bars after investigators said they traveled to Omaha to collect nearly half a million dollars in an international lottery scam.
They initially claimed to be with Mega Millions, targeting an elderly victim.

They then claimed to be CIA agents and said the victim needed to pay more than $470,000 to receive her winnings.
The suspects were arrested after attempting to meet up with the victim to take the money.
Deputies also recovered a loaded handgun, marijuana, and cash from their vehicle.
