Bodycam captures emotional moment deputies reunite frightened dog with family after fireworks scare

Fig, a dog who was frightened by the sounds of fireworks and gunfire and ran away from home, was reunited with her family after a sheriff’s office found her.
The emotional reunion was caught on body camera.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that Fig went missing just after the Fourth of July holiday.
“For nearly 10 days, her family searched everywhere, hoping she’d make it home. Even after a good Samaritan tried to help, Fig still couldn’t be reunited with her owners,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the Facebook post.
After a missing dog report was filed with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, deputies got involved with the search.
“In less than 24 hours, deputies located Fig and safely reunited her with the family who had been missing her every single day,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office shared the video in what it calls a “Feel Good Friday” post.
“Community policing is about more than making arrests. It’s about serving our community in every way we can, including helping reunite families with the pets they love,” the sheriff’s office said.
