Former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Daniel Ogama Adongo was deported last month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after overstaying his visa, ICE said in a statement.

Adongo, 37, from Kenya, was deported on June 20 after a Department of Justice immigration judge ordered him removed on March 23.

Adongo’s NFL career ended in 2015. According to ICE, Adongo was arrested by Indiana law enforcement multiple times over the past nine years for crimes including felony intimidation, battery and disorderly conduct. He was convicted of criminal mischief with damage in 2020 and sentenced to 364 days in jail.

Adongo, a former rugby player, played for the Colts for two seasons from 2013 to 2015. He was the first Kenyan to play in the NFL.
