Former Nebraska offensive tackle discusses ‘full-circle moment’ as he prepares to coach at his alma mater

OMAHA, Neb. —

Former Husker Teddy Prochazka traded in his helmet and shoulder pads for a whistle.

The offensive tackle, who played 25 games while battling injuries during his five seasons, is now an assistant coach at his alma mater.

He will lead the freshman squad at Elkhorn South, which he said is a serious full-circle moment.

“Grew up here. Just have a super deep connection with this state, and being able to represent it. You know, being a teacher, I get to teach kids in this state. Being a coach, I can coach kids on the game that I love, that brings a lot of people together through different walks of life. And I think that’s the beauty of the Midwest, especially Nebraska, where you can bring different ideas together, and just accomplish a common goal. And it’s just something that’s really important to me,” he said.

Prochazka will also teach business at the high school level in the district.
