As the U.S. Men’s National Team defeated Australia 2-0 on Friday afternoon, fans packed the Capitol District in Omaha and Pint Nine Brewing in La Vista.The U.S. is co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Canada and Mexico. Mexico fans were jam packed in the Capitol District on Thursday night as the club clinched a spot in the knockout round.A forward for Omaha’s professional soccer club, Union Omaha, was available for autographs at Pint Nine Brewing during the U.S. match. The watch party was co-hosted alongside Sporting Nebraska, a youth soccer club.Both clubs say the sport of soccer is growing locally.Union Omaha’s Adrian Billhardt is from Germany. He told KETV he’s noticed Americans are taking notice of soccer’s fan culture and the sport itself.”To see all the different cultures from all over the world, and not just the sport, but also the people from other countries. A forward for Omaha’s professional soccer club, Union Omaha, was available for autographs at Pint Nine Brewing during the U.S. match. The watch party was co-hosted alongside Sporting Nebraska, a youth soccer club.
