Gov. Kim Reynolds tours Iowa waterworks as part of Farm to Faucet initiative

GRIMES, Iowa —

Iowa leaders are getting a closer look at water conservation efforts across the state.

The Farm to Faucet program provides more than $300 million to improve water quality across the state.

Gov. Kim Reynolds recently toured a waterworks facility in Grimes. A spokesperson said the funding will help improve water quality for years to come.

“People don’t realize, but actually in Iowa, we allocate nearly $600 million a year for water quality. That continues to grow when you stack federal and state funding, $600 million a year for water quality practices,” Reynolds said.

The Farm to Faucet program will also help pay for a nitrate removal facility in central Iowa.
