I’M NATE STANLEY. NOW TO THE HANTAVIRUS OUTBREAK. WE GOT AN UPDATE TODAY FROM HEALTH OFFICIALS HERE IN NEBRASKA MONITORING THE PEOPLE INSIDE THE NATIONAL QUARANTINE UNIT AT UNMC. THEY SAY NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED, BUT WE’RE NOW HEARING A PATIENT IN FRANCE IS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE. DOCTORS SAY SHE’S SUFFERING FROM THE MOST SEVERE OUTCOME OF THE VIRUS, WITH LIFE THREATENING DAMAGE TO HER LUNGS AND HEART. THE WOMAN IS NOW BEING TREATED WITH AN ARTIFICIAL LUNG.
