DES MOINES, Iowa —
The Iowa State Fair’s popular husband calling contest took place on Friday.
It drew participants and spectators to the unique competition.

This year’s winner, Leanne Hewitt, traveled from Texas to participate.
Hewitt, who grew up in Grimes, Iowa, was back in town to attend her 50th class reunion.
