PIEDMONT, Okla. —
A high school student in Oklahoma got a major surprise when she was reunited with her brother, who had been deployed overseas for a year.
Piedmont Public Schools officials said members of the high school cheer squad thought they were getting ready for mascot tryouts. Instead, a freshman named Taylin “was in for a surprise she’ll never forget.”

Video the district posted showed someone in a Wildcat costume dancing during the “tryout.” The person took off the Wildcat head, and Taylin took off in a full sprint, jumped onto and hugged her brother, who is a sergeant in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Jordan.
