The Road to Omaha will begin for the Nebraska Cornhusker’s baseball team in Lincoln, as the NCAA announces this year’s Tournament regional host sites.On Saturday after the Huskers lost to Oregon 8-0 in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals, head coach Will Bolt said he believed Nebraska deserved to host.”I told the team, I think it’s a slam dunk,” Bolt said on Saturday night. “Our body of work speaks for itself. Forty-plus wins, second in the league and a Top-10 RPI. We’ve done everything we possibly can to play home baseball next weekend.”Now Nebraska knows for sure: The Lincoln Regional will be held Friday through Monday (if necessary) at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.It marks Nebraska’s 20th overall regional appearance and the seventh time Lincoln has hosted a regional.Tickets for the Lincoln regional will go on sale Tuesday, May 26 at 3 p.m. Husker Athletics say there will be a tiered on-sale for Nebraska Athletics donors and season ticket holders before the public on-sale. Those prices are as followed for all-session tickets:Reserved – $91Adult General Admission – $56Youth/Senior General Admission – $42Lincoln was announced alongside other 15 other hosts sites. The top 16 seeds in the NCAA tournament will host four teams in each regional. The winner of the double-elimination tournament style regional will play another regional winning team in a super regional. Super regionals are played as a best-of-three game series. Super regional winners end up in Omaha for the College World Series.The NCAA has not yet announced the seedings for this year’s tournament.
