OMAHA, Neb. —

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School in Omaha received a $2,500 grant from KETV and Thrasher Foundation Repair as part of our Cash in for Schools program.

“I was actually watching KETV and I saw it on KETV,” said teacher and applicant Melissa Gonzalez. “I thought, oh my goodness, I should do that!” Gonzalez said.

The funds are being used to create “The Rock,” a special space equipped with school supplies, personal care items, food, and clothing to support students’ needs.

“They just need to worry about their education,” Gonzalez said. “They need to have as much of a chance to build that solid foundation as they can. Having to worry about food or clothing or personal care items – that’s not something they should worry about.”

The Rock is now operational for the fall semester and will benefit approximately 250 students from preschool through eighth grade.

This is the third year in a row that KETV and Thrasher Foundation Repair have partnered for the Cash in for Schools program. We’ve handed out tens of thousands of dollars to help with projects – everything from musical instruments to technology in the classroom to book vending machines to gardening supplies.

We’re still looking for more $2,500 winners for the 2026-2027 school year. Click here to apply!
