Omaha police host ice cream event to connect with community
OMAHA, Neb. —
Omaha police officers connected with the South Omaha community during “Ice Cream with a Cop” at Victory Boxing Center.
Children enjoyed their favorite popsicles while also petting horses from the department’s mounted patrol unit.

“I think it’s extremely important to have a relationship with South Omaha, because this is our community. We’re in this together,” said Lt. Marcus Taylor.
Officers also handed out backpacks filled with supplies to kids at the boxing gym.
