COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —

Swimming is no longer recommended at Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources detected high levels of E. coli.

Officials are also urging you not to swim at Prairie Rose Beach in Shelby County.

The DNR tests 39 beaches every week for water quality concerns.

Each one is classified by its history of bacteria levels, ranging from less vulnerable to vulnerable.
