Toddler hit by car in Carroll County dies at Nebraska Medicine
CARROLL COUNTY, Iowa —
The Iowa toddler who was hit by a car in Carroll County on July 27 has died.
Now, 15-month-old Mia Mauricio’s organs will be donated.

Police said she was standing in the path of an SUV driven by her mother, who didn’t see her.
Mauricio was taken to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, where she later died.
The community is rallying around the family with donations, prayers and fundraisers.
“We just want to thank all of you guys. We see the love, but sometimes we don’t respond because we’re going through this. But we do see it, and we do appreciate every single one of you guys,” Juan Trevino, Mia’s uncle, said.
