Meet Jimothy, the raccoon with shortspine syndrome who’s taking the internet by storm

A uniquely-shaped raccoon in Seattle is taking the internet by storm.
Videos of the critter, nicknamed Jimothy by locals, show him running through yards and onto porches in his community. The videos have gone viral online, even inspiring fan accounts, memes and art.

The footage may have you wondering how he got his interesting physique.
One veterinarian believes Jimothy has a congenital spine-shortening disease.
“It does look quite unusual, but it is a condition that happens in other mammals as well,” Carrie Schneider of The Family Pet Veterinary Hospital in Seattle told KIRO.
