Salvation Army’s Lakin Human Services campus holds back to school extravaganza
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —
Volunteers spent Thursday morning stuffing backpacks with school supplies in Council Bluffs.
That was for the back-to-school extravaganza at the Salvation Army’s Lakin Human Services campus.

Volunteers from nine businesses and organizations worked together to fill 800 backpacks to help students head back to school prepared.
“Everything from notebooks to pens to pencils to earbuds, water bottles, kind of all the basic needs that the kiddos need to go back to school with,” Clarissa Newman, campus coordinator, Charles E. Lakin Campus, said.
Parents will be able to pick up those backpacks on Saturday morning.
