“If you want community, if you want a place to rest, if you want a place to work, any of those reasons are reasons to join,” said Dr. Sasha Shillcutt, CEO of Legacy Collective.
Shillcutt said the club fills an important need in Omaha.
“It’s important because women are innovators, creators, leaders in our community. We are really the heartbeat of the community,” she said.
Members are already embracing the space. Cara Kirsch said she has spent time at the club every day this week, with the terrace quickly becoming her favorite spot.
“I love it outside. I love the fresh air. I love the sun,” she said.
Legacy Collective features a range of spaces tailored to both relaxation and productivity. Shillcutt highlighted a spa-like area with running water meant to create a calming atmosphere.
“I wanted women to feel instantly taken care of,” Shillcutt said.
Another standout space is the Sanctuary Suite, designed as a cozy place to focus and get work done.
“The feedback I’m getting, women are telling me, ‘I came to the Legacy, and I did a week’s worth of work in three hours,'” she said.
But beyond the amenities, the club’s biggest draw may be the sense of connection it offers. Kirsch said she joined not only to grow her network, but to better understand what other women in Omaha are doing.
“My network was already pretty big, but I wanted to expand it and make sure that I understand many of the things women are doing in this fantastic community,” Kirsch said.
For Shillcutt, seeing the vision come to life has been deeply rewarding.
“Knowing that I’m providing something and following what I know that I’m called to create that’s helping other women is the best feeling,” she said.
As Legacy Collective begins its first chapter in Omaha, Shillcutt said she hopes it is only the beginning.
“I hope that this is one of many Legacy Collective adds that will pop up, and I hope that we will be growing,” she said.
