‘Lilo & Stitch’ star Daveigh Chase’s cause of death released

The official cause of death has been revealed for former child actor Daveigh Chase, known for her roles in “Lilo & Stitch” and “The Ring.”
Chase died June 16 at the age of 35.

According to Los Angeles County medical examiner records, Chase died of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) along with other significant conditions, including chronic polysubstance abuse.
Her manner of death is listed as natural, according to the report, which states she died at the hospital.
Chase’s big break came in 2002, voicing Lilo Pilekai in the Disney film “Lilo & Stitch.”
She would go on to star in follow-up direct-to-video films “Stitch! The Movie” (2003) and “Leroy & Stitch” (2006), as well as the television series “Lilo & Stitch: The Series” (2003-2006).
In 2002, Chase starred in the horror hit “The Ring” as Samara Morgan, the vengeful supernatural spirit who terrorizes victims after they watch a cursed videotape, famously emerging from television screens to claim her prey.
Chase also had film roles in “Donnie Darko,” “Carolina,” “Spirited Away” and “Beethoven’s 5th.”
She also appeared in several iconic television series, including “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “ER,” “Yes, Dear,” “Touched by an Angel,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Big Love.”
