Man receives sentence in deadly Omaha apartment shooting
Brandon Brewer pleaded guilty in the killing of Rebecka Lightner and the shooting of Omaha police officers.
OMAHA, Neb. —
Brandon Brewer was sentenced Tuesday to 80 to 120 years in prison after pleading guilty in the killing of Rebecka Lightner and a shooting at Omaha police officers.

Brewer had previously been denied bond in the case.
Police said Lightner was found dead inside an Omaha apartment complex near 71st Street and Jones Circle.

Officers said Brewer fired twice at police as they arrived, striking a cruiser.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, attempted murder and a weapons charge.
The sentence includes consecutive terms of 40 to 60 years for second-degree murder, 30 to 40 years for attempted murder and 10 to 20 years for the weapons charge.
