‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ actor, Broadway star Josh Grisetti dead at 44

NEW YORK —
Josh Grisetti, an acclaimed Broadway star and television actor, has died.
He was 44.

Grisetti died by suicide on Friday, multiple media outlets report, with his friend and theater costar Rob McClure sharing an emotional Instagram post on Sunday.
“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,” McClure said. “I’m not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this.”

Grisetti was best known to television audiences for his role as Ralph Emerson in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” He also starred alongside Sophia Vergara in the short-lived ABC sitcom “The Knights of Prosperity.”
On Broadway, Grisetti starred in “Something Rotten!” and “It Shoulda Been You.” His other Broadway credits included “Camelot” and “Broadway Bound.” Beyond Broadway, he built an acclaimed career in dozens of Off-Broadway productions while also appearing in several regional productions.
Grisetti was also a respected musical theater educator who led the BFA Musical Theatre program at California State University, Fullerton, mentoring the next generation of performers.
