Massive dead snake found along a Wisconsin highway
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said the animal is not native to the area.
Authorities in Iowa County, Wisconsin, said they found a massive dead snake dumped along a county highway on Thursday.Pictures posted by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office show the snake measuring several feet in length.”This animal is not native to our area and was likely being kept in captivity,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The manner in which it was left along a public roadway is concerning and has caused alarm among passing motorists.”In a Friday morning Facebook post, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said the owner had contacted them.”At this time, information indicates the snake experienced a medical emergency at a local veterinary clinic and died. The animal was intended to be buried; however, it was instead placed alongside the roadway,” the sheriff’s office said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office at 608-930-9500 (ext. 2).
