Five people have been charged in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry who suffered *** fatal ketamine overdose in October 2023. They include *** licensed physician and an alleged San Fernando Valley drug dealer who have been arrested, best known for the TV sitcom friends. Perry was found face down in his hot tub last year, law enforcement. My office and our partners represented on this stage began an in depth wide ranging investigation. That investigation has revealed *** broad underground criminal network responsible for distributing large quantities of ketamine to Mr Perry and others. Perry had struggled for years with addiction. The drug ketamine has seen *** surge in use in recent years as *** treatment for depression, anxiety and pain. Two of the defendants including Perry’s assistant have already pleaded guilty to charges.
