Metropolitan Community College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its new small business development center at MCC at the Ashton. The federally designated center is the second of its kind in Nebraska and offers entrepreneurs free counseling, business training, and resources to help small businesses grow. “The small businesses are the heart of our community. Representing over 99% of businesses in Nebraska, and they employ over half of the state’s workforce. So when we invest in entrepreneurs, we invest in our families. We invest in the neighborhoods and we invest in our economy,” Dr. Marla Ashe, executive director of business development, said Wednesday.
