A Millard Public Schools teacher was arrested by state troopers as part of a child exploitation investigation, officials said.The Nebraska State Patrol said around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, troopers served a warrant for 47-year-old Matthew Lund. Lund faces charges of possession of child sexual abuse material and distributing that material. “To have a device, you know, have those images on a device, is very telling of of their mindset and to be around and exposed to kids during the day, every day. It’s extremely alarming,” Beadle said.He is a teacher at Andersen Middle School. At this point, investigators do not believe any students are victims in the case. “There is no indication at this time that I’m aware of that. Any of the students, were victimized,” Beadle said.Douglas County Chief Deputy Attorney, Brenda Beadle said it’s still important for parents to be aware. “Don’t be hesitant or afraid to talk with your children. make sure that they feel comfortable, in their surroundings,” Beadle said. “Make sure that if there is anything that is of concern to reach out to law enforcement or project harmony.”In a statement, Rebecca Kleeman, director of communications for Millard Public Schools, confirmed Lund was arrested at his home on Wednesday morning.”Student safety is always our utmost concern. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave. Our human resources department has begun an internal investigation.
