KETV reporter takes a ride in a fighter jet at Offutt Air Force Base in 1986
OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE, Neb. —
A KETV reporter went to Offutt Air Force Base to fly inside a Navy Skyhawk fighter jet back in 1986.
Lt. Wayne Molnar piloted the plane, but before our reporter could get inside, he had to learn how to bail out just in case.

Soon after he was strapped in the cockpit.
“I was thinking about Top Gun when we lifted off. My heart beat like crazy, because I thought it was going to jump out of my chest. The rest was what you might call a romp through the danger zone,” said the reporter.
