SHE EXPECTS IT TO PICK UP AFTER WORK AND ONE OF THE HOTTEST RACES IN THE PRIMARY IS WHO WILL BECOME THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE IN THE CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT TWO RACE. THERE ARE SEVERAL SEVEN CANDIDATES RUNNING. VAN ARGYRAKIS, KISHA ASKINS, JOHN CAVANAUGH, JAMES. LUCIAN, DENISE POWELL, CRYSTAL RHODES AND MELANIE WILLIAMS. WE CAUGHT UP WITH POWELL AS SHE CAST HER VOTE THIS MORNING. SHE SAYS SHE’LL SPEND THE REST OF THE DAY DOOR KNOCKING, MAKING PHONE CALLS AND WAVING TO VOTERS. SHE SAYS SHE’S EAGER FOR THE POLLS TO CLOSE AND THE FIRST RESULTS TO COME IN. I FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN. WE’VE WORKED REALLY, REALLY HARD. IT’S BEEN A REALLY LONG YEAR, BUT ALSO AN AMAZING YEAR. WHAT A STRANGE HONOR IT IS TO HAVE A SHOT AT DOING THIS AND TO TALK TO PEOPLE AND HEAR THEIR FEARS AND THEIR HOPES. Candidates in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District were campaigning for votes Tuesday on primary day.John Cavanaugh said his campaign had at least 50 volunteers knocking on doors. He said, “I want them to know that I’m a public servant who’s dedicated my life to improving the lives of the people I serve. And I’m asking for your vote.”Denise Powell was also out talking to voters Tuesday. She said, “I feel really good about this campaign. We worked really, really hard. It’s been a really long year, but also an amazing year.”The Democrat who advances will face Republican Brinker Harding in the general election. Rep.
