Nebraska Black Pride hosts weekend celebration

OMAHA, Neb. —

Nebraska Black Pride closes out its first full weekend celebration with a family barbecue.

People had the chance to learn some cool dances or compete in a friendly spades tournament.

Organizers say this unique weekend celebrates black LGBTQ+ voices, culture and community.

“It’s really about just being together and having a nice time, celebrating life and community,” said Tena Hahn.

Nebraska Black Pride said there were a lot of visitors from around the country at the celebration. It hopes to host more events this year.
