‘Thank you for all the support’: Nebraska Democratic Party celebrates annual Ben Nelson Gala with barbecue
OMAHA, Neb. —
The Nebraska Democratic Party held its annual Ben Nelson Gala as a barbecue, highlighting family and community in this year’s event.
Numerous leaders attended, including Mayor John Ewing Jr. and Democratic National Convention Chair Ken Martin. Former U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson also made an appearance.

“I dug out this campaign shirt here,” Nelson said. “My first surprise was it still fit. So thank you for all the support that you’ve given me over the years.”
The fundraising event has been named after Nelson since 2022.
