Nebraska Democratic Party files appeal in regard to dismissed challenges against Working People Party
OMAHA, Neb. —
The Nebraska Democratic Party filed an appeal with the state Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, a district judge in Lancaster County dismissed the challenges against the Working People Party and the America First Party.

The Nebraska Democratic and Republican parties brought separate challenges, asking to block the Secretary of State certification of the new parties.
They alleged the new groups were trying to confuse voters.

In a statement, the Nebraska Democratic Party said “voters deserve less confusion and more reliability on who the real candidates are fighting for them versus a bunch of pawns in a billionaire’s game.”
KETV reached out to the Nebraska GOP, but we haven’t heard back yet.
As of right now, those parties could have candidates appear on the November ballot, but they have not announced any potential candidates.
